YOUTH MINISTRY

The youth ministry is led by Bro. Chigozie Ogbonna, and Assisted by Stanley Onourah. The ministry is a place where youths are allowed to come to exhibit what God has put in them to move the church to the next level. It is a place where different classes of people are welcomed; even people that are not members of the church attend their meetings.

The meetings are held every Monday of the week and once in a month the Senior Pastor tends to put the youth through the problems that they encounter as a youth, the challenges that confronts them, and also on Relationships. Most times the meeting is always an interactive session where the Youth/Singles are allowed to ask questions on issues bothering them.

The youth also inculcated in their ministry the beauty pageant which led to the first Miss Canaanland 2009, Miss Esther Obioma. The programme attracted people from every areas of life and also the Youths were encouraged to be themselves in the house of God.

2010 International Singles Nite

The 2010 International Singles Nite, tagged “Dream Come Through” was a splendid event that underscores the celebration of all singles in Pentecostal Canaanland Mission, Inc. It is an event that emphasizes the fact that in as much as the singles of Pentecostal Canaanland Mission are conscious of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, they should also have a feel of an immeasurable presence of God here on Earth before witnessing that of heaven.

Besides, it was an event targeted to make our single feel belong and important in the house of God. This was the second of its type in 2yrs as the first was premiered on the 12th of June, 2009, hence, it became a yearly event.

The event welcomed different status and classes of people from all works of life, the atmosphere was charged and densely polluted as everybody could physically perceive the sweet smelling aroma of the Holy Spirit. The event was characterized by so many activities so much more that our invited guests were thrilled to an exciting moment of quality praises & worships, emotions, happiness, debates, suspense and above all the celebration of the champions.

Activities such as Drama, Cultural Dances, Group Song, Individual Songs, Choreography, Who wants to be untop Game show and the star event which was the crowning of the beauty queen, “Miss Canaanland 2010” was the top on the list of the activities.

Miss Canaanland beauty contest was not centered on facial or physical beauty but it was simply an idea to showcase the beauty of our single ladies from the inside through intelligence, creativity, friendliness and also to explore and help our single ladies discover and harness their God giving potentials.

The contestant were taken through several training classes & school of Geography, Aviation, Current Affairs and the biblical teachings, all of these which eventually formed the basis for the questions asked.

The contest was full of suspense, discoveries and above all fun. Six beautiful ladies were in contention for this prestigious Crown, Miss Grace Chioma Okara, Miss Amarachi Ubendu, Miss Jennifer, Miss Chinonye Okpara, Miss Debora Victor Omose, Miss Joy Ozenabor were the beauty ladies that made the final list for the prestigious crown. It was the clash of the titans, the battle of the intellects and a period of new discoveries.

The contest paraded the team of qualified Judges of reputable profiles with high integrity in their different field of chosen professions, among the team of Judges, was Mr. Monday Okogwu one of the Senior Bank Executives of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Lagos, Nigeria, Mr. Charles Agbasi another Senior Bank Executive in Bank PHB, Lagos Nigeria, Mrs Chinelo a Successful international Business Woman and the chief Judge, Deacon (Engr.) Peters Etiboluo a Managing Partner in a joint privately owned Building & Construction Engineering Company based in Lagos with branches in UK and Benin.

After a dazzling and scintillating performance, these reputable judges couldn't have made a better choice other than to jointly agree to give the Crown of Miss Canaanland 2010 to Miss Joy Ozenabor form Edo State a Medical Doctor in the making soaked with passion and strong flea for children.

Apparently, she was in contention for this prestigious crown last year 2009 but could not meet the list of the final five. So, what do we say about this victory? Let just say, she is a lady who does not give up easily, whatever she wants, she goes for it that was exactly what happened in 2010.

Miss Debora Omose Victor retained her 1 st Runners position (Known as Miss Favour) as she was the holder of such in the 2009 contest while the unexpected Miss Chinenye Okpara became the 2 nd Runners up (Known as Miss Prosperity)

The Senior Pastor, Pastor Nick Medo-Uwa promised a 3-days excursion tour to the Federal republic Ghana for the three beauty queens that emerged as the winner or a cash gift of N30,000 for Miss Canaanland 2010, N15,000 for the 1 st runners up and N10,000 for the 2 nd runners up all in lieu of the tour to Ghana.

This was however optional for the ladies to make their choice with a consolation cash gift of N5,000 each for the remaining three ladies. All promises were fulfilled by Pastor Nick Medo-Uwa, we say thank you sir.

Above all, it was a programme nicely packaged and carefully delivered to the Glory of God. So, on behalf of every member of the International Single Fellowship of Pentecostal Canaanland Mission, Lagos Nigeria, I want to appreciate God For HIS unending faithfulness, His Grace and strength, and most importantly to every member of the International single fellowship that made themselves available for the preparation towards the programme amidst of several odds and constraints, I personally appreciate all of you, I pray that, in a short while from now, God shall create an occasion for you to be celebrated, at that critical time you needed God most in your life, HE will show up.

No man will turn down your request, whosoever you need to climb to where God has destined for you will not turn you down. Every giant of potentials that is laying waste in you, God is waking them up from this second, it is well with you, it is well with your Careers, it is well with your Business, it is well with your Jobs and it is well with your families, in Jesus Name, Amen.
